Mission
Community School of the Arts (CSA)

Provides quality arts education to all children and youth
Cultivates an appreciation and enjoyment of the arts in children and their families
Provides an environment and curriculum that enables each student to achieve his or her highest potential and
Promotes equal access to our programs and reflects the diversity of the community.


Celebrating over 30 years of quality arts education, CSA is the only arts organization in Charlotte that offers instruction in music, dance, visual arts and drama. With expert faculty, headed by department chairs, CSA continues to provide the best arts education for your specific needs.


The Programs
Early Arts programs serve to initiate pre-schoolers into the arts with introductory programs.
Arts Academy programs serve to teach the arts through private and group instruction.
Arts Reach programs are dedicated to underserved children, youth, adults and senior citizens, community-wide, with programs that educate and nurture cultural appreciation and understanding.
Family Workshops are geared toward helping families explore the endless possibilities of the arts.
Summer Arts Camps continue your arts education throughout the summer! CSA’s summer camps provide your child with hands-on instruction in music, dance, visual arts and drama for ages 4-14.


Special Events
Gingerbread Houses and Huts – Create your own gingerbread house with candy, icing and much more! We provide the house and materials - you supply the creativity!
Children’s Arts Festival – This annual spring event celebrates children and the arts! Children and their families explore the endless possibilities of the arts, hands-on, and are also entertained by CSA’s own music students! A treat for everyone and it’s FREE!


In addition to our main campus, CSA also has two-satellite locations: East Satellite - 4949 Albemarle Road and South Satellite - 9595-D Monroe Road.
