Central Piedmont Community College is a career-focused College whose vision is to be "the national leader in workforce development." We were chosen the "Community College of the Year" in November, 2002, by the National Alliance of Business and have been distinguished by the U.S. Government Accounting Office and by Jobs for the Future as an outstanding national leader in workforce development.

We have achieved these honors because we focus on our vision and on meeting the needs of our students and those who employ them. Our committed faculty and staff make the difference for our students whether they are emerging workers, existing workers, entrepreneurial workers, or transitional workers. Our students will find the same high level of competence among their faculty whether they are seeking a two-year degree, a computer certification, learning English as a second language, or seeking a high school diploma. Students will receive their education or training in a variety of delivery options to include classroom instruction, seminar formats, televised courses, or on-line courses.
